Welcome to the Short Notice General Practice Staffing Agency Website
Having been in General Practice Management now for over twelve years I know how frustrating it can be when you have staff on annual leave or sickness and asking other staff to cover but unfortunately they are unable to do so because of other commitments? What do you do ...........?
With the abolishment of PCT's mentioned in the new white paper it is going to hit general practice greatly because all of those departments within the PCT you were involved with will no longer be there! There is no doubt about it but General Practice, Practice Managers and Practice staff will have a lot of changes made to their current job roles.
What will happen between PMS and GMS GP Contracts?, What will happen with QoF? How will you bid for new monies for your Practice? How will the paying mechanisms now work without the PCT? Do you use Open Exeter? There is no doubt there will be an enormous amount of work put on to Practice Managers and their staff within General Practice and as such I know from experience that to learn new ways of doing things can only be done with the whole team on being focused and kept abreast of all future changes.
Since the announcement of the abolishing of the SHA's and PCTS's they have already started to decommission services, the Smoking Cessation Service has now been handed to local pharmacies! The decommissioning of Prescribing Support given to Practices so as to cut prescribing costs! Even attached staff you have in your practice have all had to re-apply for their own jobs! Along with this they will probably be downgraded and faced with the possibility of a pay cut, they may even return to secondary care positions which will have a dramatic impact on your practice population as more services will be withdrawn sooner rather than later.
